I've noticed that with my pc, there is horrible stuttering in Unreal engine games. For example, in both Life is Strange and Styx Shards of Darkness (Unreal Engine 3 and 4), there is absolutely horrendous stuttering in certain parts of the game. What I mean by stuttering is that the frame rate would just tank for a few seconds for absolutely no apparent reason and then shoot back up. When this happens, the game hitches/stutters really badly for a few seconds momentarily before fixing itself. In Life is Strange, for example, one second, I'm playing the game at 144 fps, and then all of a sudden, when I reach a certain part of the game, the frame rate would just tank down to 110 or so for a split second, and then immediately shoot back up to 144, causing a horrible stutter - it's almost like a freeze.
Anyone know what could be causing this?
Oh, and to add, if I try a game that's using a different engine, like CryEngine, I don't encounter the problem.
My specs:
4770k @ 4.4 | Corsair H105 | MSI GTX 980ti GAMING 6G | Asus Maximus VI Hero | Corsair 1200W PSU | 16 GB G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series @ 2133 | Asus PG278Q
