Horrible Horrible monitor drivers

My monitor has some horrible horrible drivers, always has. It's never detected 75% of the time, which leads to a lot of problems. Possibly the worst drivers ever created...is there anything i can do besides by a new monitor? It's always been like this, it's awful.
