They were probably on their way home from a dinner, but it was a journey into death: Four people - including a ten-year-old boy - are on Sunday evening came near Wöllstein (Alzey-Worms) in a traffic accident.

She died when her car, a BMW 3 Series Coupe, first came off from unknown causes after a slight bend of the road, against two trees crashed and was torn to pieces.

Brand new company car

A 38-year-old man, his ten year old son and two women aged between 28 and 33 years, according to police thrown out of the car and fatally injured. A 46-year-old who had been sitting in the passenger seat, was trapped and suffered fatal injuries.

When the car is, according to police about the official car of the man who worked at a car dealership and is like the other victims of Wöllstein. Those who had been sitting at the wheel, was initially just as unclear as the cause of the accident.

The BMW was too fast?

The inmates were known, they had planned to eat something and be at Bad Kreuznach was probably on the way back, Rüdiger Schmitt reported by police in Alzey. Presumptions that the car crashed because of too high a pace, he would not confirm. "It may as well be that an animal has crossed the road," he said.

The road itself was dry and free of the curve itself can also be passed through at a speed of one hundred. Evidence that alcohol may have played a role in the accident, there was not at first. According to initial police investigation no other car was involved in the accident on the highway 420 in Alzey-Worms.

Boy thrown 40 meters

The car itself - a new Demonstration - have probably not had a technical failure, said Schmitt. It was torn at the impact in two major and several smaller parts. "If even the steering wheel is pulled down, can you imagine how much energy was being released," said Schmitt.

The ten-year-old boy was thrown to his specifications about 40 yards into a field. Whether the bodies are autopsied must still decide the prosecution, said the police spokesman.

They need a better proof reader for that newspaper.

First it was 4 people dead, then it's 5 people. So what's the BMW's real kill count?

Terrible terrible accident.

Never forget that you take your life into your own hands every time behind the wheel.

If the driver was being irresponsible its a sad shame the child and the others had to pay for their stupidity.

Crazy, the first picture almost looks like part of a car was photoshopped in due to how it was torn away. Just how fast was the BMW going to be messed up like that.

Wow, that think looks like a tank decided to take a few shots at it. How do you tear a car apart like that?

It could be something that was messed up in translation. It does appear to be a German source.
An English article might help clear the whole thing up. I'm having trouble even following that damn translation, and that's without the passenger count issue.

Run into a tree at high speed. I've seen it before and it is amazing how bad the results are. Cars are amazing pieces of machinery...but they can't overcome physics when you mix a high rate of speed with a relatively thin, immovable object.

The article is in German. OP probably used Google Translate for us to read. You know, since must of us aren't fluent in German.

id imagin it would be pretty easy to determin if it was a tree as the tree would show some obvious damage from splitting a car in 1/2

I always heard how fast people drive in Germany so I was pretty excited and nervous when I went to Bavaria several years ago and rented a car. I drove on several autobahns snaking through the Bavaria region around Munich and was surprised to find that I was actually the one driving fast in my rented Peugot 407 station wagon.

They have restrictions now on some parts of the Autobahn. Maybe you were speeding? lol.

I sure felt like it, I felt like I was doing something seriously wrong and might be pulled over. Luckily they seem to barely ever have cops patrolling the highways unlike the roads here in New York. Here its like there is a cop sitting around every bend waiting to pull me over...

Four, five... what's the difference?

Horrible accident is horrible. Presumed fast pace was at fault.

You see wrecks like this when you are in police and fire Dept.

I was in Fire Dept in New York for 8 years.

One night got a call for car Vs Truck.

The car was probably doing 100 or better and slammed head first into a diary truck. The diary truck had a pretty high ground clearance. You see where this is going?

There were two drunk guys in the front seat of this plymouth fury.

The car disintegrated very much like the german car.

I found one of the guys feet in the trunk.

nyc the cops don't care unless you change lanes every 2 seconds and drive a lot faster than traffic which is going to be at least 25mph faster than the limit.

Try taking the taconic state parkway up in westchester or more north, or the thruway (rt 87) past the tappan zee bridge. probably the worst stretches of highway to drive on if you are a habitual speeder like me

I've played enough video games to know that you don't drive into trees. Lightpoles, people, even fire hydrants... but you don't fuck with trees.

A buddy of mine died when we were 20 in a similar accident. And ironically it was in a BMW 3 series. They were going about 110mph on a residential road, hit a slight bump which sent the car airborne and turned it sideways. It landed by hitting a large tree and splitting clean in half. The 2 guys in the back, which included my friend died on impact. The two in the front survived with relatively minor injuries. The driver was convicted of vehicular manslaughter and believe he spent 3-5 in jail for it.

I remember some of the scariest driving on the German Autobahn - don't remember quite the speed, but maybe 80MPH, at night, in pouring rain, with little visibility.
