Horrible! Can't delete PMs to self! PMs full! HELP! (Found a workaround, but still needs fixing)

I've been fighting with my PM limits for some time, and I finally found out what's been eating up my PM space. You see, my brother messages me through my AT account while I'm away because he knows I'm not about to check email and fight through spam while I'm at school. He uses my account and messages itself, knowing that I'll see it when I check on a deal, trade or whatever (It usually works almost as well as a pager!). Anyway, I noticed that I never had to delete messages to myself because they would just disapear after viewing them and never show up in History. But recently I noticed that I only had 71 PMs but it said I was full with 102 PMs. I suspected the "disapearing" messages were to blame so I deleted a few old messages from other ppl to get the count down to 98. I then sent a "test" message and the count increased to 100, even though it was gone. So it is them and they've taken up almost a quarter of my space! Anyway, I checked the "View History" button from WITHIN the PM and it showed all past messages I've sent myself. I believe I am able to delete them from here but I will leave some of them in case a forums operator wants to take a look at the issue...

Thnx!

If I'm not mistaken, all the messages "disappear" after you read them, as they are moved from current/unread status into history (if you don't immediately delete them upon reading). The method you mentioned for deleting sounds like a winner.

Another option would be for your brother to get his own AT account, then PMs from him could be read/deleted like from anyone else.

If you look your entire history though PMs from yourself do not show up. I tried to PM a link to myself to remind me to check it, after I read it I came back later & it didn't show in my history - I thought somehow it had been deleted.

Using his trick though (PMing myself again, then clicking view history in the PM) I was able to see the PMs I sent myself previously.

Oh OK! Thanks for taking the time to explain that Viper GTS, I can understand the problem now.

Does anyone know if this has been fixed? I haven't had the chance to test it...

My main problem with this workaround is that I could not send myself a PM because I was over my limit (Thanks to the phantom PMs). I had to consolidate important messages in other replies to delete them. (I was over the limit). This would be much more serious if you had 100 of these hidden PMs and you could no longer PM yourself to delete any of them.
