LOL summer tires in the winter...
We have enough trouble stopping on WINTER tires in the winter here in Edmonton. It boggles the mind the people who drive around on all seasons, to hell with summer rubber that turns rock-hard under 7 degrees C.
That being said I am grateful to have my summer rims back on. Toyo Proxes T1-R, fantastic grip. Wear out kinda fast but I suppose that's expected given their treadwear rating of like 280. In the winter I have a set of Michelin Pilot Apin PA2s, which are like the X-Ice 2s only with a higher speed rating (they have sort of a hybrid tread pattern that looks partially like an X-Ice and partially like a summer tire).
In spite of record-breaking levels of snow I only got stuck once this winter when I high-centered the car after sliding into the ditch on the side of my alley, lol.
Car is a 2005 Volvo S60R, 300 hp AWD, 6 speed manual.
