Horizontal Screen Flicker - Acer AL1916W

My Acer AL1916W at work started flickering horizontally across the screen last night. I have tried a different VGA cable, adjusting the refresh rate and also resetting the screen defaults. Nothing has worked. Looking at the back of the monitor the manufacture date is 02/2006 so I am sure this is well out of warranty.

Any other suggestions of things to try before I put in a request for a new monitor?
