Hi,

So I got the Samsung 204B and it's worked great, but recently there's been a pixel-wide horizontal line that goes across the entire screen. It changes colors depending on what's being shown, but it shows up as long as there's a signal going to the monitor.

I've tried the monitor on different computers and I get the same problem, so it looks like a monitor issue. I'm just wondering if anybody has encountered this before. I'm just about ready to ship it off to Samsung but I want to make sure there's nothing else I can try.

Thanks.

Not normal.

I have the 204B & it sure doesn't have lines.

The same thing happened to my 37" Westinghouse LCD. Except mine was a vertical line. One pixel across, top-to-bottom, on every input and even between inputs (i.e. when switching from one to another, that brief blackscreen moment). Ended up getting it replaced through BB's extended warranty that I had on it, due to it being irreparable. It's definitely a monitor issue.

One thing to note... Westinhouse corporate had me unplug the monitor for 5 minutes as a troubleshooting measure. Didn't work in my case... don't think it'll work in yours... but it doesn't hurt. Anyway I bet you'll need to replace it, or live with it. That kind of problem isn't a botched setting; it's a screen problem.

You aren't alone... we recieved about 50 of these monitors at work... so far 3 have developed lines in the two weeks we've had them... maybe it's the batch of monitors? We're having those 3 replaced by samsung...

Had the same problem with my Samsung 204B. Ended up RMAing it. Told samnsung i had a line of dead/stuck pixels across the monitor and they said they'd been having a small problem with some of the monitors in a few of their lines and that the best option was to replace it.

Samsung was very nice about it all too. They cross-shipped to my local UPS store, i brought in my monitor, they took it out of my box, put it in the box the other samsung came in, put the new monitor in my old box, and i went home. No shipping charge and about an hour of downtime.

On top of that, they gave me a follow up call a few weeks later to make sure everything was working out for me. I've got to give a big thumbs up to samsung for their customer support and RMA procedures. Good luck fanerman. Hopefully your return process will be as smooth as mine.

The new monitor works wonderfully by the way.
Keep us up to date. ;)
