Horizontal black lines on Samsung PN50B650 Plasma TV

A few weeks ago I turned on my Plasma TV one day and noticed several horizontal black lines across the screen. Essentially it appears as though it's an entire row of dead pixels. There are 7 rows in total situated across the bottom half of the display and two of them are right next to each other which creates a slightly thicker band. I have read a few forum posts scattered across various places on the internet of people experiencing this problem before, but did not find any posts that described a fix for this. I have not done any software updates on the TV, but I suspect that doing so wouldn't remedy the issue.

I've had the TV for around a decade so I've gotten plenty of good years of use out of it and had been considering getting a 4K OLED for a while now anyways so I'm not too upset with the outcome, but I would like to know if anyone has had any experience with this type of issue before, or has just lurked on TV forums long enough to be familiar with the problem and how to remedy it.

It took me no time at all to Google the problem and the first page of results was littered with Samsung plasma TV's and black lines, including several YouTube videos. Watch this one.

Thanks a lot! For some reason I didn't even think to search under videos. I also use Duck Duck Go at home which doesn't seem to do as well as Google for tech problems like these when it comes to relevant web results.

This looks like a fairly easy repair job if it's the same problem. I'll still probably end up getting a new 4K OLED, but it'll be nice knowing that this TV can keep chugging along.
