Horizontal and Vertical Lines on Laptop Screen

My laptop screen has an area on the top right quarter with horizontal and vertical lines of different colors after I opened it up and then closed it. I checked the LCD video cable connection to the board and it is solid. Is this a screen problem or something else? I think I might have somehow damaged the cable because I don't know what else it could be. So anyone know how to fix this or where to get a new video flex cable for an old acer.
