this thread has some info on the gift card. I'll reprint the info I posted there:

BB sells Gamer's Gift Cards that come with a $5 off coupon on any game software. So buy a gift card, put $5 on it, then use the GC and the coupon on the game purchase: instant $5 off. At my local BB's the gamer gift cards with the coupon are in the Media Dept, not at the checkstand.

I usually buy one of these to use the next time I come to buy a game. That way you don't have to do two purchases at the checkstand. This is probably a B&M only deal.

That's actually the best price I've seen. It's not on sale anywhere. Is this some wild conspiracy?! Best Buy didn't even show this in the ad on Sunday. I assumed everywhere was $29.99 so I bought it elsewhere. Ah well.. it was worth my $30 anyways.
