I need an 802.11b card that's compatible with this laptop , I believe it needs to be a 16bit card I suspect someone around here can steer me in the right direction. :) Maybe it's a voltage issue. I tried a D-Link 650+ and it's "keyed" in a way that it won't plug in.

Features of the PC Card slots:
Two Type III slots (side by side)
PC Card Standard 95 compliant
CardBus compliant (PCI 2.1 / 32 bit)
8/16 bit PC Card support (no Zoomed Video)
Texas Instruments PCI1131 controller
Requires no PCI-to-PCI bridge

thanks

Tom

I have one of those laptops, required for my year in college. Anyway, I did a quick search, and there are 16bit non-cardbus WiFi cards, but I couldn't find any that said they worked in 16bit non-cardbus slots.

They are cheap though, try the Netgear MA401, the box says cardbus, but people on another forum said it wasn't.

Honestly don't remember. Any idea where I might find this info? Manual? Bottom of the laptop?

I have an old NIC PC card, but no info on that.
