Deals will be completely different in a few months, so I can't really make any specific recommendations.

In general though, your PSU is way overkill. An IGP build needs ~400W PSU and a midrange GPU build needs a ~550W PSU.

PLEASE when you POST threads asking for input on system builds tell us...

1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing. image editing

2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread 700$

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from. usa

4. IF you're buying parts OUTSIDE the US, please post a link to the vendor you'll be buying from.
We can't be expected to scour the internet on your behalf, chasing down deals in your specific country... Again, help us, help YOU.

5. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc.BOTH INTEL AND AMD

6. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are. AMD VIDCARD 6970
SWIFTECH POLARIS 120 HSF CM STORM ENFORCER SAMSUNG 830 256GB RAPTOR 450GB

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds. NO OC

8. What resolution, not monitor size, will you be using? 21.5 1980X1024

9. WHEN do you plan to build it? XMASS
Note that it is usually not cost or time effective to choose your build more than a month before you actually plan to be using it.

X. Do you need to purchase any software to go with the system, such as Windows or Blu Ray playback software? WIN 8 64BIT

Bump this thread in about 5 months, or 1-2 weeks before you want to build.

I would sell the 6970 and upgrade to 9000 series.

Can't give specific recommendations, but here are what I expect to happen:
CPU and Mobo prices drop down from current levels a little bit. Right now, the newness premium is still prevalent.
RAM prices will continue to go up.

For hard drives, it's hard to say. I don't think $/GB will go up though.
PSU - there's probably a good 500-550W one for $50-$60.

I have an ssd and raptor
I can barely afford this upgrade the videocard is ok I dont game
thanks for reply
I may just get a 990fx asus mobo and 8350
do youlose all the data when you replace mobo?

You will have to reinstall windows but you can take backups of your stuff on a different drive. This is a good reason for why people have two partitions, one for C: Windows, and one for D: Data.

Only C:\Users is really worth copying, assuming you have not created additional folders into C:\ besides the default ones. It should contain all your personal files. C:\Program Files is not worth copying, all the programs there will have to be reinstalled anyway when doing a fresh Windows install.

I'd say to copy Program Files to make sure that you get any data files from bad programs that need to run as admin and stuff that would be annoying to redownload like Steam games.

checking the price difference
now Im thinking 8350 asus 990- pro
gold seasonic 650
corsair vengeance lp or crucial ballistix both 2x4mb
win8 costing lots less

You're still 5 months away from building, I don't understand why you're even considering specific brands and models? 5 months is a long time in the hardware world. Just put the idea on ice until you can start buying stuff. All you need to know for now is that your budget is fine for building a decent entry level gaming PC.

  You shouldn't be looking at pricing until a week before the build (at most).
