Hi Guys just finished building my new system- MSI K8N Neo2 A64 3500 90nm
i had problems from the start. The computer would start up by just turning on the psu switch at the back and it would not run with two sticks of ram (This is with the 1.37beta bios) it would come up with bios checksum error.
After many hours of trying various configurations and trawling the web i was about to give up when i came across a comment by MSI surpport to check itf the motherboard was shorting out on the case.
I did not think this would help as all i had done is remove one mb stud. I could not see anything wrong when i lifted the mb. So i fired it up outside the case and it worked perfectly!!! wtf!!! All i could think is it was shorting out on one of the mb studs. So i put insulating tape over the studs placed the mb back into the case and now its rock solid!!! I`m running it at the moment at 2475mhz at stock volts on the cpu and stock cooling idle34-35c max load 50-53c. I will leave it at that until i get some water cooling on it.
Anyway hope this helps someone out there.
