Hooray I get to babysit my four siblings today

So my dad and step mom are coming down to go to a garden expo in Madison, and they'll be bringing my four half-siblings, three girls and a boy, ages 6-14. So my step mom calls this morning and says that they have to go an additional hour away to pick up a round bale feeder, and that she's just going to leave the kids at my place while they go down there.

wtf I'm a solitary computer nerd... I don't have any kid stuff. I'm DLing the Golden Compass, as I think that will hold their attention (my step mom lets them watch R rated movies :frown:)

Anyway, anybody have any suggestions as to other movies or TV shows or anything that can be used to entertain 6-14 year olds for a couple hours? I've looked through my entire movie selection, and there's nothing that I think would be appropriate for them.

And I can't just say no, as I'm going to ask my step mom if she'd be willing to help or fully cover my tuition for next semester (she's in control of the money), so I'm trying to stay on her good side.

Do you have anything mind numbing or tedious for them to do around the house?

Lock them in the bathroom?

Gladitorial games for your amusement?

Unfortunately, my bathroom is quite small, and they wouldn't fit. They are all TV fiends (read: fat slobs) so I figured a good long movie would keep them pacified, but after the GC is done, I dunno what to put on. I was thinking Beowulf (they all love LOTR), but there's some pretty gruesome violence.

That will just ensure that she won't let you take care of them again after they tell her ... That, or you can show them 300.

Dude, for the younger ones, just mess with their belief systems. If you're good at telling stories, they'll believe anything.

Convince them that you have magical powers and then find a way of 'demonstrating' it that goes beyond their current critical thinking skills.

heh they've already seen it. I burned a copy for my dad and I guess they all watched it and loved it. The last time I was up there, my little brother, the 6 year-old, was going around throwing butter knives at people, and my step mom thought it was funny when he hit me in the head with one.

Get some candy, cake and ice cream. 30 minutes before your parents pick them up, let them eat all that crap. After that your parents get to deal with them.

That's the price you have to pay for still being on the tit...

Easier said than done Boomer, especially with all the taxes, insurance, and other paperwork that parents can help with. It's just not that simple.

Sure it is...It may not be easy, but not much in life is easy if it's worth doing.

Very true, but sadly, many these days don't believe in the pleasure of hard work.

lol, at least you don't have to change diapers. Just get a bunch of stuff together like pillows, blankets, etc...and play with the little ones, let the older ones watch movies.

Oh man, I can't get over that. Absolutely freakin hilarious. Why are you spending time on an online nerd forum at age 14?

Tell your Dad mano a mano to get his balls back and if you have no interest in watching 4-heathens then man up, say no, and get a part time job to support your damn self.

Your step Mom must be a hottie with some damn good vajayjay for your Dad to just hand over his paycheck..........

FUCK YEAH saved by the snowstorm. They decided to leave early.

Oh, and by the way, I do have a job, but between car, rent, school, books, and food, I don't have much spare change. Unfortunatly, I didn't get a chance to talk to my step mom about the money, but I'll have to give her a call sometime when she's not all panicked about the snow.
