Hooking up work notebook to home network

My work notebook runs under Win 2K. I would like to be able to choose between my home network and my work network. Both have completely different schemes. I hardcode the IP addresses at home (I keep a list in front of my main computer at home, it makes it easier to telnet in as most of my boxes run Linux).

Any hints on how to set this up? Will I need admin rights on my laptop to do so?

Are you saying that you want to have two different NIC settings? If so, Netswitcher will make your life easier. Quite frankly I would have thought that this function should have been built into Windows, but it isn't.

I'm not sure if this answers your problems.

Right, two different NIC settings. One for use on my work network and one for home. That includes a different gateway and DSN at home so I can patch into my cable modem to get out into the internet.

Will I need admin rights to use Netswitch?
