Both have S-Video ports but the problem is they're both different types of S-video, they dont look alike (the holes are different).
I'm basicaly new to this,as you can tell, but if its possible, i'd like to use my computer on my HDtv (1080i capable).
What S-Video cord do I need exactly in order to make this hapen? I would really appreciate any help given. Thanks in advance!

Probably just has extra pins to provide other signals to a breakout box, in which case a normal svideo cable will do the trick. However, svideo cables are not cappable of HD quality signals, so don't expect great results.

Ok say I do get an S-Video cable... but the problem is, since both males on the cable are the same, how can both fit on my tv and laptop when both have one hole that is rectangular but one is vertical and the other is horizontal?

Ok I got everything hooked up... the Svideo cable, the composite cables going to the composite input in the tv.
But I only get the desktop picture and nothing else... no icons, no nothing... what is going on?

Sounds like it is running in extended desktop mode so you just have to drag a window over to the screen to make use of it. If you want clone mode you should be able to set that in the advanced display properties.

OK finally did it boys! Just had to mess around with the card settings for "tv output."
Although its far from perfect, its great, I just saw a whole avi movie tonight!
I wish there was something I could do about the fonts though, as you can imagine they're not clear and blurry as hell,m they hurt my eyes after a while. I know you can play around with the fonts but screw it... I just want to play movies on it, and maybe some musice.
Anyways, thanks for all your helps guys, you've been very helpful!
