hooking up lcd tv to computer

I am having a hell of a time hooking my tv up to my computer. I got it to work for a while through the dvi-hdmi connection but it was all oversaturated in green. Then i restarted and now i cant get any picture to show up... how do i set this up and why the oversaturation of green? thanks

another thing that is wierd that I noticed is that everytime I unplug my dvi cable from the back of my computer and plug it back in, my computer freezes. I checked to see if the vid card is loose in its socket to see if that was the reason but, its not. Why would it be doing this?

Make sure that on your computer you have auto detection on, unplug any other connecters except the one going to the TV. Try to use your regular VGA output with a dvi converter and see what it looks like if you have that capability.

Problem with unplugging all other connections, cause I tried this first, is that you cant see anything when you plug the tv in. It stays black screened. Thats why I hooked my other lcd up to the vga port and then the tv up to the dvi and tried to set it up that way. I went to detect tv setup for clone mode. Then it had a greenish looking picture, went back into the tv settings and set it to 720p HD and it worked, but was oversaturated in green. I set res and refresh rate to its native display settings and still green. Then I restarted and now I cannot for the life of me get the damn thing to detect again.
