Do i need a specific sound card with certain outputs for it? Or would a DFI NF4 onboard 7.1 sound do the trick? (input-wise.. I know sound quality ain't great)

And if i want to use my PS2 with the set can I do that directly into the speakerS?

thanks

it should work with that mobo, but you can't go directly into from a PS2. i hear that system has great sound, but usually only lasts a year or so before the amp dies...

I don't know if the amp has changed at all, but for what it's worth I've owned my Promedia 4.1s for 6 or 7 years at least and have had absolutely no problems. BTW, Quality of this set is outstanding to my ears.

I've had the 5.1 setup (the THX certified one, not the redesigned one that came after it) for over two years now, and have had 0 problems with it. I saw those reviews when I was considering buying it, and I suspect that the people who had problems were people who turned the bass up way higher than it was really meant to go (because a lot of them read something like "awesome bass...but died after 3 months"), so it's kind of their own damn fault. Respect your speakers, and their limits, and they'll be good to you. The sound quality is awesome, especially for the price.

No idea how you'd hook them to a PS2 though.

You can't go directly from your PS2 to the klipsch. You'll need a decoder. Klipsch sells one, and creative sells one. Both are around $100.

I have the same setup (Nov. 04)....sound great and haven't had any problems. The control box is nice for when I want to change over and use the headphones
