My current audio setup is the FPS 2000 with the SBLive! Gamer. I have a Yamaha reciever lying around collecting dust and I want to hook it up to my pc to improve the sound is that possible? If so how? Thanks.
I hooked up my dads old receiver up to mine(I have the same setup as you).Just goto radio shack you can pick up a splitter so you can put all 4 speakers from the FPS 2000 on the front channel and a coverter to go from sound card jack type to the aduio type. It will have one sound card type and two audio. Then hook the receiver upto that. Just ask me if you have any more questions.
It depends how you hook it up. I got the splitter and put both the front and rear speakers from the FPS 2000 on the front channel(and put all four of them in front of me on my desk). Then put the receiver on the rear channel and put those speakers behind me so the FPS's had the front channel and the receiver has the back. Also if the receiver has digital in you might want to split the digital out. Im not sure how that would work or if it would or not but it would be cool if it did. When you get the splitter make sure it is a stereo type or will mess up your sound card.
