hooking up a PS2 to my computer

im thinking of getting some component cables for my PS2 so i can play the games on my comp in great resolution, but i just have a few questions.

I have an evga geforce 7800GT. It comes with component inputs, but when i look at cables, and then the plug ins on the 7800, it only seems like there are inputs for video, not audio. My question is: do i have to buy anything else to get sound from my PS2 to my computer speakers, or do all of the plug ins on the attachment to the 7800 come with both video and sound?

Ive never used component cables, so i do not really know if i have to get anything extra to get sound out of my computer speakers.

thanks for the help

The red and white audio cables need to connect to the Audio In port(s) on your sound card. If your sound card does not have separate white and red input connectors, you'll need to get an adapter to convert those two plugs into a standard 1/8" headphone jack and plug that into the sound card's input.

Yeah, the breakout box that comes with the 7800GT has component OUTPUT and composite and SVideo INPUT.

Jello, what's with the new avatar?

Ok, so i hooked up my cosole with the VIVO inputs, but now i dont see an option to actual change the display to the console. I keep looking through all of the option, and ive tried the detection setting, but nothing comes up. What am i doing wrong?

i hooked it up via composte. Im guessing theres some software i have to install that EVGA probably gave me, but i dont know what it is.

I haven't used a VIVO card, but yeah make sure you install all the drivers and software that came with the card. Did it come with some?

Tu13erhead, new avatar is just for fun. Happy New Year 🙂
