Got a new dvd player and want to hook it up to the tv which currently has a vcr and wanted to know if someone knew how to do it. I have the RF Modulator that currently works and allows all to function except the dvd macrovision is activated and is screwed up when you hook it up the way they tell you to do it. I have the dvd player, vcr, and Digital cable box on there and was hoping someone knew of a way to have all 3 hooked up at the same time without any of the problems (ie having to hook and unhook each time, macrovision when vcr is also being used, etc).

Damn the MPAA to hell for this Macrovision crap.
The best solution for you is probably an A/V switchbox. Nab one from your local Wal-Mart.

An AV switchbox would be a decent option for you. What sort of inputs do you have on your TV?

Could you run:

Digital Cable---->VCR---->TV (via Coax)
DVD---------------------------->TV (via RCA)

?

Well if you only need the dvd player hooked up get the rf modulator box, it will give you the component plugs to plug your dvd player into and convert it to rf. The problem im having is having both the vcr and the dvd hooked up at the same time

Is your VCR a hifi w/ in and out RCA? Here is how i have mine run

DVD is run to RCA input on VCR

Digital cable box to VCR coax in

VCR coax out to TV.

I have to turn on the VCR and set it to the video channel to seee the DVD input.

The digital cable works when the vcr is turned off.

I too am looking into a new tv. :(
