Hooking Up 6.1 on Herc GTXP?

I now notice that I can select 6.1 on the control panel...and was wondering how this is accomplished, since there is no rear center output on the break out box.

Yup, just plug in the minijack from your speaker serving as the rear surround channel to the GTXP's headphone jack. Also, you need to turn up the volume knob for the headphone jack to the max... adjust further using the control panel.

Wow...that's really kewl. I'll have to try it sometime. BTW, do any of you know if PowerDVD XP does DTS-ES or DD-EX-Matrixed?

I'd like to know this as well.

I hooked up my DVD player to the GTXP via the Optical output and all I got when playing a DVD was a weird clicking noise. So, I tried hooking everything up via S/PDIF and in the GTXP control panel it said "Copyrighted" or something and wouldn't play anything.......??

Would love to get DTS or some form of DD through my computer speakers until I can afford a reciever/surround sound setup.

just plug in the sub, center, front right and left, real left and right to the labeled plugs. the center rear channel goes to the headphone jack on the front. Simple

To do Dolby DigitalEX you have to plug it in this way ot stream it to your HomeTheater receiver.

To do DTS-ES you have to stream it to your receiver with optical or Coax cable and has to be a compatable Software. PowerDVD supports DolbyDigital EX but DTSES I'm not sure.

Although Cyberlink's PowerDVD XP 4.0 and PowerDVD XP 4.0 deluxe DO NOT decode Dolby Digital Surround EX nor DTS ES surround sound, owners of the GTXP, using driver v3.02 or higher can purchase PowerDVD Pro 6.1 (link found on this thread... also included in the newer packaged boxes of the GTXP "6.1") which is Dolby Digital Surround EX certified to watch DVD movies encoded with Dolby Digital Surround EX in all of it's 6.1 glory.

However, there are currently no soundcards nor softDVD players that are certified to decode DTS ES surround sound (or true 6.1).
