I have a GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX All Solid Capacitor Intel Motherboard and it has a 24 pin power hook up and another 6 pin or 4 pin hook up tot he mobo. What is this one for? Is it just for additional power? The mobo manual was not very specific or detailed.

The 24 Pin is the main power to the mother board. The other one at the other side of the board near the CPU and the rear IO panel is a 4 pin 12 Volt connector and its for the CPU power. Your system will not run without it!
