hooking mic/headphone to pc

bought my GF a Creative X-Fi card and some Creative Intrigue 3800 2.1 speakers, the speakers have a volume box with a headphone/aux jack on them. Maybe I'm confused but shouldn't the aux jack support a microphone? She plays LOTR and would like to use headphones & voice chat with the speakers muted.

The aux jack should support the mic, you have to set in the drivers.

we set the aux in the recording properties for the X-Fi, humm we'll keep messing with it.
