What would be the best way to hook up my computer's video card (8800 GTS) up to this 1080p, and what is the max resolution could I get? Could I get the full 1920x1080? It has the following inputs:

* VGA input
* HDMI
* Component video input
* S-Video input

HDMI would be your best bet with VGA following that. Yes you could get full 1080p. Check to see if there is overscan over either input. Some models don't allow you to do 1:1 pixel mapping and result in part of the screen being cut off.

Buy DVI>HDMI cable, change mode for that input to "Just Scan", ... profit... (in 1080p)...

Yep

Make sure you use "dot by dot" or some sort of non scaled option also so it fits right.

Yup, that's what "just scan" does... it's 1:1 mode. Additionally, you can change the "name" of any input to "PC" and it will lock it into 1:1 mode on the Samsung.

Cool, thanks guys.

Will I be able to change the resolution via my computer (e.g. to play games) with a plasma TV and the display adjust like it would on a normal computer monitor? Would I be stuck with the high resolution?

Would you guys recommend a plasma TV or an LCD one for computer games, movies, and general computer usage?

You can lower the resolution for games, but it might not look that good.

You can lower the resolutions fine. In games 720P or 1080P is the best idea.

If with nvidia card you can scale smaller resolutions to be centered and black bar'd if needed

Considering resolution and rescaling, would I be better off getting an LCD TV over a plasma one?
