A woman pleaded no contest last week to prostitution charges, accused of agreeing to be paid for services with a box of chips by a man who said he was a Frito-Lay employee.


Lahoma Sue Smith, 36, was ordered to pay a fine of $1,142 in municipal court from charges from a February arrest.

According to the police report, undercover officers noticed Smith "trying to catch a date? by flashing her headlights at SE 33 and Robinson. Officers said they followed Smith?s car and found her with her blouse open and found a man in the passenger seat pulling his pants up.

The man told police he was having marital problems and knew he could pick up a prostitute there.

Smith told police the man told her he was looking for company but he didn?t have any money, so she agreed to be paid with a $30 case of Frito-Lay chips he had in the back of his car.

When asked if she had ever been arrested for prostitution, Smith told police "Yes. Two or three times,? authorities said.

Smith was arrested on complaints of prostitution and suspicion of driving with a suspended license. The man was not arrested.

A police spokesman said the man was not arrested based on "officer discretion."

They let him go because the lady has most likely been a repeated pain in the a** using tactic's like that in the same area for prolonged periods of time. But really that man's an asshole for not saving her the confession.

All they could have got him for was pandering, but it's likely they let him go for a confession of the ladies action's.

You are in no way responsible for someones past, they are. Cops can't go on anything but a story unless physical evidence or confession is *provided*. In this case they had a story, which could have been over twenty dollars if that's what the man SAID.

How do you think they found out about the potato chips? Because she was eating them when they showed up???

The dude was a wimp. Cops can't hold you liable for someone else's past, ever. Claiming relatively recent involvement is really that simple, cops don't know a thing but what you tell them and men being tricked by females is a reality to police officer's.

He could have saved her a lot of humiliation, and his job any way you look at it.

Second, what the fuck is fining a prostitute going to do but guarantee shes back on the street? These people need to be helped. Its BECAUSE they have no money and they are fucked in the head that they are doing this. Fucking courts are MORE loony than this woman. At least shes trying to follow a logical path of no money -> get money.
