Hi... I'm putting together my new system right now and this is my first case with front side mic and headphone ports. My mobo is an MSI KT3Ultra2 with onboard audio, but I'm going to disable that since I have a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz pci card. Now, there are pins on the mobo to hook up to my front side ports, but since I'm disabling the onboard sound, these are rendered useless. How then, can I hook up the front ports up to my Santa Cruz? Is this possible? All I want in the front is the mic jack, since I have a headphone jack on my speakers. Or am I just confused and the pins on the mobo will still work together with the added sound card?

I have an Asus mobo, but my answer has nothing to do with that.
In my setup, the front panel came with a wire that runs along the bottom of the tower towards the back and comes out the back by using up a slot. The ends are the jacks for mic and speaker which end up dangling out the back of the case. At that point they are plugged into the sound card and just like you, I only need the mic so the speaker wire hangs out while my sound cards outputs are occupied by my speaker setup.

I hope that helps but I think if you had a similar setup you probably would've figured that out. Good luck
