I have a 98 Buick Riviera that sat for 9 months, and the hood won't open. I can move the latch by hand, but the hood itself won't budge. I've tried lifting the hood while moving the latch, as well as pushing down on the hood with no luck. Someone help. Please.

Have to reach under the car and pop it that way. A small screw driver can help.

Once open though fix the problem.

My hood did that once on my 01 buick regal. I had to go around and 'smack' the top of the hood around the latch. Though I put a very small dent in it when I did it, it opened. I would look more into doing it from under as Jimzz mentioned.

That sucks. I had an Audi in my younger years that whenever I wanted under the hood, I would have to remove the grill and pop it with a screw driver. PITA.

Ha ha same thing happened with my '97 Integra LS. I took it to some cheap oil change place to have oil changed and have them pop the hood. I saw them putting grease on the latch. Free of charge. :D

Rubber seals were stuck to the hood. Loosened them up with a piece of plastic and pulled up on the hood to eventually get it opened.

Hopefully, you have now replaced the seals :p
