honking, sirens and screeching tire sound effects should not be allowed to be played on radio

I could not agree more. This morning on a commercial that had a siren that got progessively louder and I'm looking all around for an emergency vehicle. The siren had absolutely nothing to do with the product they were selling either.

i agree. pisses me off to no end when i dont realize its my stereo. now i instinctively hit the mute button when i hear a siren.

Another is the warning sound cars make. A DING sound can startle me and bring up feelings of dread.

My solution: control the source that is playing through your speakers. Not only can you avoid those annoyances, but as an added bonus you can pick out and listen to music that you know you like, instead of chancing it.

I tend to agree. Fucks up the whole driving situation as I break my damn neck looking for the ambulance or firetruck! :|

😛

I had an external bull-horn on my old car, and I would pull behind people late at night and press the siren-sounding button.

It was hilarious to get behind cars that you knew had dope in them with a bunch of kids or tweekers at night. Some of the reactions are priceless.

This exactly my kind friend.

I would personally like to never patronize any business or entity that uses such effects on their radio ads, especially.

Haha...

I'd have to be really baked for that to actually trip me out to the point of thinking it was something other than the radio.

Seconded.

They play the radio in the shop out at work, and it makes its way into the engineering office. Same commercials every day, and god they're irritating.

But I like the randomness or radio and some sports radio talk shows.

I agree 100% and have long desired a law that fined them for disturbing the peace. Heck, if they can be fined for airing certain words, they can be fined for making driving less safe. Someone who pulls over for a non-existant siren is a sitting duck to the other drivers who are listening to another radio station and don't hear it.

It got your attention didn't it?

the wrong kind of attention. not only did i forget what product they were hocking but it makes me mad enough not to buy it if i do remember what it was they were hocking.
