Honking car horn to call someone inside house

I have some neighbors, it seems that anytime they want to gain the attention of someone inside their house they honk the horn, for example (real examples):

1 am in the morning someone drives to the front of the house and honks the horn 4 times. So 2 times, then a pause, and then 2 more times. Obviously not knowing that people are sleeping at this time of the night and probably waking up everyone in the street. They do the same thing at 7 am in the morning.

Matter of fact I've noticed that whenever someone comes to pick someone up from the house they just honk the horn, one time I counted them honking the horn about 20 times before they stopped. Sometimes they use really long horns followed by a pause, lol. Man in all honestly my neighbors are cool but they have issues in terms of understanding levels of noise.

Anyways, anyone else do this? Honk your horn to tell someone from inside the house to come out?

Step outside and shoot the assholes. There isn't a jury anywhere in the USA who would convict you for it.

I wish that were true lol, doesn't help that I don't live in glorious USA, rather I live in Canada where if you look at someone the wrong way you go to jail.

(pink because only a girl would even have to ask such a question. A MAN would just take care of the problem) :p

The only way I ever do this (and it's very rare) is when I know for a fact that someone is waiting inside the house for me - if I just talked to them in the last 10-15 minutes or something.

I'll usually give it a minute, and then give one quick honk. If they still don't come I'll get out and go to the door.

go out your door and hop in their car every time they honk. if they say wtf, say oh, when someone honks the horn, it is your signal that someone is there to pick you up. you could hear the horn so it must be meant for you.

Does your city have a noise ordinance?
Yes, it does. Don't think I have ever seen it enforced however.

And yes I would love to go out and get violent don't get me wrong, but I don't feel like sitting in jail for the night.

Or i can hop in the car and ask them if they want the daily special or just the same old same old, either way I'm getting paid.

You could always go out there and tell them to stop fucking honking their horn when people are trying to sleep. Sometimes, people are just idiots and don't think about the shit that they do. "I'm sure this loud noise that is supposed to get the attention of the people in that house won't bother anyone in another house!" :p

I used to have a neighbor who got picked up every morning for work by an ass in a truck with 15" subs blasting rap turned up to 11. You could hear him a block away. Then he'd honk when he pulled in like everyone in a 4 block area didn't already know he was there.

That is really obnoxious and a lot of people do it. My street used to be a quiet block but we got new neighbors a few years ago that are loud. They are always waking me up. The dad has a very loud voice and likes to talk to people on the sidewalk and street from his terrace. Some people act as if they are the only people around.
