I think Hong Kong style roses is reffering to the arrangement. More fluff than flowers, and the bottom where all the stems meet have an nice bun of paper/wrapping. It looks like each rose has it's own tissue paper.

There's a place in La Mirada. It isn't exactly OC but they'll make HK style rose arrangement.

HK roses are heavily gliterred at the top and have layers and layers of wrapping (non-cellophane), usually a mesh of sorts. They cost a bundle; last time I got some it was $10 per rose. I like the regular ones better anyhoo; more natural.

yep got those before, cost me $85 on V-day a few years ago. I got them in San Gabriel though.
