How about San Juan, Puerto Rico? (my wife is Puerto Rican)

It was a stop on our cruise and we enjoyed it a lot. Beaches are nice too.

Okay, like many of you have said, Bora Bora and Tahiti is pretty much out of our budget 🙁 We're still keeping Fiji on the list cause we're stubborn like that.
We're looking at Costa Rica, Aruba, St. Lucia, St. John ... right now it's whichever one fits our budget.

Any good websites I should check for vacation pacakages?

If you could budget a little more you could consider a long cruise. My wife and I went on a two week princess cruise on the Med. Destinations visited: Barcelona - Monte Carlo/Nice - Livorno/Tuscany - Naples/Pompeii - Athens - Kushadasi (Ephesus) - Istanbul - Venice. It was an awesome trip and well worth the money ($1600 per person not including air fare).

As I say in every tropical vacation thread: BELIZE

Spend a week with your new wife on Ambergris Caye and you will thank me.

at your budget, id say an all inclusive cruise is your best bet

i went on a cruise for the first time recently. wasn't a big fan. it seems people are either cruise fans or they hate them, and there's no inbetween.

oh ive never been on one, but it seems youd get the most for your money that way, lol

airfare would take out 50% of your budget from the start
