Honeymoon. Suggestions Wanted!

Hi All.

So I'm getting married in September and its been made clear to me that organizing the Honeymoon is my job.

I've travelled a decent amount (some of Europe, most of America and a bit of the Caribbean, but there's alot of places I havent been.

Money really isnt an object (within reason of course), because hopefully you only do something like this once.

If you are married, where did you go on your Honeymoon and how was it?

Even if you arent married, where have you been that you think would make for a nice spot (good nightlife, things to do during day, nice hotels, etc)?

Thanks!

Sorry, but I say Las Vegas. It matches your criteria, but I don't know if everyone would like that for a honeymoon😛

I would got o australia or New Zealand...they seem beautiful. If not there, then the US Virgin islands maybe. I would do either, plus, if i went to the carribbean, i would go all out, and get the nicest suite, and whatnot.
Hell, i wanna get married now!😉
Congrats BTW!

Congratulations on your engagement. We went to the Pocono's in Pennsylvania. If I had a choice, I'd go to Australia. They say it's real nice in the fall (our fall, not thiers...)

go to Biblos - St. Tropez France

go to Post Ranch Inn or Ventana Inn (private cottage) - Big Sur California

go to Sonoma Mission Inn - Sonoma Valley, Calif

go to Kauai, Hawaii

you won't go wrong at any of these places

We went on a cruise for our honeymoon. Cancun, Cozumel and Rhoatan (sp?) Island, Hoduras and it was a really good time.

A year and a half ago we had the opportunity to go to Fiji for 10 days and it was the most amazingly beautiful place I have ever seen. We took a small 3 day cruise (90 person ship) throughout the islands while we were there and stopped and swam in the blue lagoon (same one from the movie) and also stopped at the island Tom Hanks filmed Castaway on.

Once in a lifetime thing that I could only hope to do again. I'll post some pics tonight when I get home from work.

I got married last September. We went to Vegas for 5 days and San Fran for 4 days. Had a great time. Vegas will treat you really well and there are plenty of places to get fancy rooms for a once in a lifetime occasion.

I recently went to RIU Palace in Mexico (Playa De Carmen) and it was cool. All inclusive and beautiful surroundings. I'm not much of a beach person, though, so Vegas was better for me. However, I'd say women really like all inclusive beach resorts.

I figured going out of the country somewhere exotic might be more trouble than it's worth. I mean, you have to pack a bit more for overseas, you don't know the areas very well, and you have to communicate in a foreign language unless you are in commercial areas. We were originally going to do Italy since I had such a good time last time I was there. But, since it was my hooneymoon, I wanted to go somewhere that I knew would be easy to get around and plenty of stuff I'm used to and love. Vegas was built for visitors and they know how to take care of folks.

Well of course that depends on what you're looking for.. I wouldn't pick an island like Hawaii because then I'd just spend the whole day sitting at the beach. For my honeymoon last year we wanted to be more active so we went backpacking through france. That was fun, we had two huge bags but easily travelled wherever we wanted.

Here's the image gallery from that trip so you can see what it's kinda like. If I were to do it again I'd want to go to new zealand.

Yay my 100th post! It's about time...

VERY nice pics! They look professionally done.

I'd recommend the Cayman Islands over Hawaii any day of the week. Hawaii is too far away, crowded, and isn't nearly as pretty as the Caribbean. The diving, too, isn't nearly as nice.

We went to the Southern Cross Club in July 02 for our honeymoon. Link

Rated the 2nd best dive resort in the world for 2001. As soon as we can come up with the money, we plan on going again. Absolutely loved it!

If you stay in the US, I would suggest Sanibel Island, Florida. We stayed there for our honeymoon last year, lots of great places to eat. On the gulf side, heres one of several great resorts on the island.. Casyabel

AU and NZ has the "opposite" weather (than US), like hot in chirstmas.

Depends on what you are "into", Europe give you more options for the history/museum lover (no others match).

NZ is on my list of place to go. but the long plane trip may not be what you like.
Like to see some screen like "LOTR"

I really liked Germany when I was there (Munich). Plenty of touristy things to do, some night life Id guess (slept most nights 😛).

Mother-in-laws

😀

Seriously, I would think about going to Vegas. One night you could stay in a hotel that looks like its Italian, and the next you could stay at the spynx place. Its like traveling the world w/o leaving town, well kinda.

You haven't fully looked into Hawaii then. Lots to do other than just the beach including some excellent hiking and even backpacking on the big island and/or Kauai...
