honeymoon ideas

I am planning on getting engaged this summer. I am not that big into the beach, but am not completely ruling it out. I am also very frugal with my money. I am looking for honeymoon ideas that are not overly expensive. Any ideas?

Unless you keep it relatively local, you're probably going to find anything cheap.

I just finished booking an all-inclusive trip to Cancun for our honeymoon in May and everything came out to $2600...which I thought was a pretty good deal.

thats a pretty broad request!
need more info...
how much do you wnat to spend. how far are you willing to travel? what do you two enjoy doing (history, food, nightlife, art, people watch, etc)
when are you planning on taking the honeymoon?

Define "not overly expensive". To some people that's $500. To others that's $5000. Also what part of the US are you located in?

depending on when you are planning on hm'ing...
autumn in NE is beautiful... there are a lot of nice resorts in the Pocono Mountains
FLA is nice as well... if you go down to Sanibel/Captiva Island for a while
A cruise could be had for a fair amount of money as well. depending on where yuo are located, there could be a port within driving distance.

Also - do you want a more active HM? Hiking, golfing, camping, ect?

Or do you want a more luxury oriented one where you can lounge around and have meals made for you and all you have to do is eat, drink, and do things that newlyweds do?

yes, what's inexpensive to you ? Maybe a cruise for < $1000 pp... ? A lot of people's honeymoons are upwards of $5k... so you gotta say...

you are planning for your honeymoon already? you are not even engaged yet, you want to make sure she will say yes before planning for the weddding/honeymoon. 😛

We were in Tahiti for Honeymoon this pas Jan. So I guess that is a suggestion but not cheap by any means.

My suggestion is don't be cheap if you can afford it.

I'd first concentrate on getting hitched. I'd hate to plan a nice honeymoon and then get my marriage proposal turned down.

there is a special package on right now that is greece for 4 days and then a cruise of turkey for 3 days. its 1740 cdn a person.

2 nights at the intercontinental beachcomber in tahiti and 5 at the one in bora bora.

Nevermind, I will just have to do some research on my own. I understand that everyone's idea of expensive is different. I will just have to research to fit my needs. Thanks and I am sorry I had lack of information.

Nice, BTW Moorea is smaller than Tahiti and is probably nicer. Lagoons in Bora Bora are awesome. If you get the chance do the Submarine dive. It's $150 pp but it was fun.

For me at least, I'd rather figure out everything myself.
it's not about figuring things out... it's about saving time and money. Cancun was a prime example. 1st time - not inclusive ... 2nd time - all inclusive... guess which experience was better ? Food in cancun is ridiculously expensive and similar to each other... what's the point when you can just get it in one place for cheaper ?

I just booked 9 days at the Bitter End Yacht Club in Virgin Gorda for late June. Bora Bora and the like were just to far away (and a lot more expensive).
