Still doesn't make me want a tablet. Until they come down to the sub-$300 range, they are just expensive toys.

Umm you can already get many tablets at that price range, they just suck. If you want a very good tablet at that price, it doesn't look like that's going to happen any time soon.

I think it looks pretty good. My only concern, it's still lagtastic and nothing in the demo showed true desktop browsing experience like the video was claiming.

I'll definitely wait and see

PlayBook definitely looks to be dead on arrival now.

At the time it was announced it was special because it would have been the only dual-core tablet on the market, but now it has to face off against a likely dual-core iPad 2 and countless dual-core Honeycomb tablets. I don't see RIM winning this battle.

Bunch of RIM haters here, I guess....

Seriously though, with a long enough extension cord, the PlayBook will kick all those tablet's asses with one micro sdhc card tied behind it's back...

These tablets aren't what;s going to hurt RIM, what's gonna hurt RIM is $75 Android phones sold in developing countries...

Oh, never mind then. Google's ever-informative and ever-knowledgeable Dan Morrill has disabused the world from the bogus belief that Android's "made for tablets" iteration, aka Honeycomb, will require a dual-core processor as a minimum to run. Dan says there are no specific CPU requirements for aspiring Android 3.0 tablets to meet and we should all sit back, relax, and enjoy our breakfast. That's reassuring to note, but let's not read more into it than what's said -- while Honeycomb might not technically require a dual-core beastie to power it, there's a reason why the Motorola Xoom (which is soon to become the first device to offer Honeycomb onboard) is launching with a Tegra 2 chip inside.

I think the Playbook looks better. Maybe I'm burnt out on Android but that video didn't look that impressive.

Naustica: I kind of agree with you too... I just want something fast! I want iPad responsiveness! Or WP7 UI speed! With WebOS multi-tasking, and we're golden.

LOL @ all the PlayBook hate, I know what I'll be getting.

Read some interesting stuff about QNX recently, power management has only been applied once to a QNX device that was sold to the military and the specs of that device have never been released...
