My dad loves his 98 CRV. Only complaint is that the engine lacks kick. The new 2.0 should help alot.

Wow. Thanks - I'm sending the link on to my dad - he was waiting to buy a CRV for my mom until he could see what the new one would look like and decide if he wanted to wait few more months.

I guess this is not an offroading SUV....
well I don't suppose anyone actually uses their SUVs offroad, so there's probably no issue.

The CRV is purely for onroad. My dad got his to help him get through his short daily commute. It's good enough to get through 95% of the bad weather. Heck, in the last 5% you shouldn't be out anyway. He has no allusions on what it is. He call it his "tall Civic."

In a little over 3 years he has put on only 10,000 miles.
