Honda to release VFR1200 in 2006.

Honda is to launch a 1200cc V5-engined replacement for the Blackbird. It will be packed full of anti-crash electronics and be capable of cracking 200mph.

Factory insiders say it will be on sale in 2006 and be blessed with the most powerful engine a road bike has ever used - making around 190bhp.

The bike - named the VFR1200 - will feature traction control and the latest development of Honda's combined braking alongside ABS.

A guess as to how it'll look

A good example of GP racing technology trickling down to the consumer.

For a flagship superbike, I would hope for something a little more aggressive or daring in the style. Looks good though. I can't wait to see the final design.

V5 has been powering the Honda Championship GP bike for 4 years now..
makes way over 200hp.. and is wicked badnasty..
Nicky Hayden rides on so does Valentino Rossi for Team Honda..
190hp.. well Im a huge honda fan.. and they always seems to quote HP at the crank not the rear wheel.. they have also been known to pad the numbers just a tad...
my 929 started life at 120 hp.. pretty low for a liter bike... now after some mods its a rspectable 140.. still not up to 2004 standards but enough for me.
as for this news sounds awesome.. the numbers seem a bit high even the flagship for the year the CBR1000RR is only rated at 178hp and its a freaking beast..
this bike will be a Busa Killer runway rocket for sure..

Rossi left for YAMAHA and hes currently kicking HONDA'S ass this season on the M1😀

If they can make it look good, to go along with all the neat technology the VFRs always have, I could totally see myself on this bike next. The current VFRs just don't do it for me.
