Great, Honda's getting rid of its only actual truck based SUV in favor of a station wagon on stilts. I think the Pilot looks cool, but I don't think Honda should get rid of the only truck-based vehicle they offer. I have nothing at all against SUV's, people can spend their money however they want, I just wanted to point out that I think Honda needs to have at least one SUV that's truck based to compete with the 4-Runner/Land Cruiser.

Here's my take. If yo a$$ ain't bringin' the $$$ home, get the *^@# out of my house!!!! 😀
The Passport is selling about as fast as Aztecs at a $1 sale. Must SUV's are going to a car-based unibody b/c they are stiffer, less prone to creaks/squeaks, ride better, weigh less, and add to the companies bottom line. People are sapping them up like crazy. The Highlander is KILLING the 4-Runner in sales even though they are about the same size and price. And guess which one is "truck-based" 😉
You go with what sells. >>
I know, but I still think they should have at least one SUV that's truck-based and more off-roadable, if only to show that they can. And I do like car-based SUV's, they have a lot of virtues in inclement weather, plus they don't consume as much gas as truck based SUV's. I'm the last guy to be bashing SUV's, I like my dad's Explorer V8 way too much to do that. 🙂
bigsmooth, great point about Honda not having a truck to base the SUV's off of. It's one of those things I knew, but hadn't thought about. I'd love to see some Honda trucks someday though. Given Honda's engineering abilities, I have little doubt that Honda trucks would do well.
