Basically it's a natural gas engine/heater tied to a generator, which runs electricity to the house/power grid. It says it's 85% efficient at making heat+electricity.

dunno, maybe they only count heat that actually gets into the ventilation system or something. I mean, you don't mount this in your living room. 😛
 
you better be able to be still plugged into the grid, cause 1000 watts is NOT going to cut it for ANYONE.

that said, if it can turn gas into electricity at prices enough cheaper to cover the conversion, you could feed energy back onto the grid and make money. 😉
