went to a honda used car dealership today and saw a honda ex or lx = all options- with leather seats
for $4995 with note DEMO CAR. THE REGULAR STICKER PRICE ON THE WHITE SHEET SHOW $23K PLUS. IS THAT A HOT DEAL? Had to drag the wife out of there.

tried to see the mileage but I guess you have to turn the car on. it was in Maryland. It was raining and cold out there today. But what is a demo? Are they good. Their price is almost one fourth the regular sticker price.

it is a honda 2002 for both honda ex or lx and a civic for $4500 plus. I was not sure what to do with it?

it's one of two things or some combo of both

1) typo. Missing a one or a two in front

2) bait and switch. "oh, that's a typo, we haven't changed the sticker yet. But come on inside and take a seat, we can cut you a great deal"

There were only 2 demo cars in that lot and both for $4K plus. You think they made a mistake on their price by omitting 1 in front on both cars? Maybe the wife was right. I s/d have gone in and talk to a salesman. I did not want to buy another car and pay monthly on it but if demos are good. It might be a good deal. I was unsure if these cars had something wrong with them.

It's either a typo, bait & switch or salvage.

There's no freakin' way they're going to SELL a 2002 for under $5k, add another $10k.

Also it could be $4995 OFF.

yup.

if that's the right price, i'd buy it regardless of the milage cause you can always turn around and sell it again for more than that. but check it out pretty carefully to make sure it's in good condition. whether you keep it or sell it, you'll want to make sure it's in one piece. ;)

I'm guessing they forgot a 1 in front of that price. Don't buy it if they only take off like $5 grand don't bother, because everyone beats those badly.

I'd say its $4995 off book value. The dealers in my area are sharks and they always pull that kind of stuff.

Those were my thoughts exactly. My wife did not want to leave the car and I just found a job after one year looking for one. It looked new- especially the accord with leather seats- it was a beaut!! But at that
price. something must be wrong with the engine. I am not a mechanic so I would not know how to make
sure this is not a lemon.

Even if the sh*t was driven out of it and it still runs/drives ok I would buy it. Hell, if it was in LA I'd tell my dad to buy it so we could turn around and sell it. No f'ing way its 5k.

Yeah it's off. I've seen cars here with huge $5,995 in the window. When you actually ask it means $5,995 off MSRP :disgust:

Yea where's the dealership. I'm sure we'd all like to know where not to go, since this is obviously a uhm ... bad deal. *ahem* so give the 411 :D
