I was looking around Autotrader and I noticed that old Honda Crx's seem to have gone up in price since the last time I looked at them.

About 4 or 5 years ago I bought an '89 Crx that was identical to the one I linked below in both appearence and approximate mileage for under a grand. I got a great deal on it but when I sold it a year later after doing some minor mechanical work it was still only worth under $2000. What the hell happened to the prices of these things?

They were cheap and are very light. Drop an H22 in one and you can easily run 13's.

EDIT: They sure as hell aren't worth those prices though!
 
The one I had was able to get 40+mpg. That was the coolest thing about the car. (as far as I was concerned)

The 240sx I have now struggles to beat 16mpg. Granted that's because I treat the accelerator as an on/off switch but still...
 
when they discovered you can drop in Integra and Prelude motors easily they became very popular to the ricers.

My brother had a 91 CRX that had a B18A1 motor off a 91 Integra LS that got wrecked then he bought another 91 CRX Si and put a B18B1 from a 94 integra LS motor in it but could never get it passed emission testing. He rebuilt his stock D16 motor but he did something wrong and it won't pass emissions.
 
I would never pay >$4000 for something with over 200,000 miles on the clock. NEVER.
 
it's light and it has double A arm suspension on all 4 wheels. It's a good platform to build up for road courses or dragstrip.

 
Am I the only one with the opinion that those are tiny ugly little POS cars?
I wouldn't drive one if it was free!

I probably wouldn't fit into one at all actually ........





 
Look at the Pontiac Fiero. Ugly misshapen tin can, and in it's last year of distrobution, could beat the 'vette at 0-60. Resale is pretty high on them aswell.

Sounds familiar. A coworker of mine did a B16 swap, but didn't transfer over the emmissions equipment, and wasn't willing to put in the cost of it. After putting in some $8000 into the car he had a race car that ran 13.8. Could've been a street car a state or two over.
