I've always thought it was a 2 seater, but I saw some pics on ebay and some pics show seats in the back, but Im not sure...

It's a two seater...I don't think it's even possible to fit three seats in the trunkspace of that car because of it's slanted rear window.

There used to be a Honda Civic wagon back in the 80's, though. Maybe someone misnamed their auction?

Yep, that's a CRX...and I can guarantee that those rear seats weren't standard. Probably added them in for the sake of utility.

Edit: reading the description, it's an SiR, which wasn't sold here (in America). As such, the seats may have been standard in Japan, no idea.

Interesting. My friend's bf had one and if it didn't have a back seat, I dunno what I was sitting on....maybe it was an option during certain years?

Whoa! Nice little CRX. That's obviously the Japanese model, though. That may have come with rear seats. In my old CRX, there wasn't a rear seat, just an open cargo area.

Hm, I just reread the auctuion again and it had "...REAR FOLDING BACK SEAT..." Maybe it was an option?

Exactly what I was thinking...it's an SiR, shipped in from Japan. They might have had the rear seat as an option over there, but definitely not here in the states.

It probably was an option on the Japanese model only. If you look at the pix and description, you can see that it is a right-hand drive car. Whisper said it probably is the SiR model of the CRX which was only sold in Japan and may have had that option.

SiR's come with those back seats. They're not really functional though, because if you put the front seats all the way back, there's no space in for people in the rear.

They're nice bucket style seats though.

There's no way those seats are functional, maybe for carrying a small child in a carrier, but otherwise, they're useless.

I had an 87 CRX SI, and it gave pre-teens a stiff neck to sit in the cargo area, it was so small.

I had 5 people in my old '84 CRX once. We were caravanning in two cars and the other car broke down so we all piled into my car. That was years ago though ('85 or so). I betcha half of those people would no longer fit in that car. ;)

The CRX was always a 2 seater with a hatch area. In Japan, they actually had a 3rd jump seat in the rear. It was never a 5 seater though. You must be confusing it with a regular Civic and not the CRX.
