Honda civic - Ignition Lock Cylinder

Let's talk about it.

I have an old one. It's not really busted so much as the part that holds it to the steering wheel was broken off. (Still not sure how they managed that as it is solid and thick metal. Jaws of life?) Anyway, that was from when my car was stolen. So what I've been doing is taking off this ignition lock module/cylinder every time I leave my car and then plugging it back in. This isn't so bad when your car is torn apart and it's really easy to get to the wires. It only adds about 30 seconds before/after and you know that unless someone brings their own ILC, they ain't starting that car. (Not sure about the chances of that, but I'd imagine they're low)

So, I decided to get a NEW one because... hey, I hate doing that and I rather have a normal car! (Thieves be damned) So, I decided to buy one. I bought this: AIRTEX / WELLS Part # 1S6427

It seems to be exactly what I need. It says it's for automatics, works with 2000 honda civic EXs... so, it should work, right?

Wrong.

I've been trying to get that thing to work. (Way too many hours of fiddling with that fucker today) I probably have never tested it until today (4 months after purchase because I've been really busy) to find out it doesn't seem to work. Why doesn't it work? Well, when I have it plugged in and then turn on my car... that works fine... except then I'm like, "Cool, that works. Let me get the key ... what the fuck?" It doesn't come out. It's stuck in position I and I can't get it to go to position (0?, the one where I can pull the key out). It clicks and it hollers, "Fuck you, I ain't workin' for ANYONE!" So, now I'm pissed. It DOES come out when I disconnect it from the car though. (i.e. I do my usual remove the IGL from the car and go on my merry way)

I decide to change the actual cylinder and swap cylinders between both units. (My snapped one that does work, and this new but broken one) Neither cylinders fully "work" in the new module. Which btw, the cylinders are RIDICULOUSLY difficult and require me to disassemble the module itself. My "broken" and old one DOES NOT require this and from youtube videos, you do not need to unscrew certain areas and then fiddle with the little fucking prong that grabs onto your cylinder and... JESUS CHRIST I SPENT TOO MANY HOURS ON IT

Now you might be saying, "Maybe it works but your old one is broken! That's the problem. See, you're an idiot. Is it in park?" Yes, it is in park. The light even shows up for park. So, it's in park alright... Doubt my old one is broken although I wouldn't hold it against you for thinking that.

What to do, AT? Anyone know which wire I can just snip off so that I don't have to deal with it trying to stop me from pulling the key out for whatever reason? I just want my car to be normal again! She's so close...

And that medium beige carpet I ordered (it's a brown, really) doesn't actually look that bad in my otherwise opal/grey interior. Kind of nice, really.

Fixed.

Removed green plug from ignition module. No longer an issue. God damn, it's so satisfying to get out of my car now. Coming from a nearly completely gutted car and having to remove the ignition module every time I used the car... such a PITA. Now? It's like luxury...

Car as it is now... I still need to clean it, replace the windshield, and clean the floor mats and put them back in. Pretty close though...

Also, O2 sensor is still giving me issues. I will replace it tomorrow and pray that fixes it. (I don't think it will, I think there is a wiring issue)
