So my friend drives a Honda Fit which uses a really uncommon 151R battery. Well, the battery is dying, we're looking for a replacement battery. I went to a number of auto parts and found the 151R at Autozone, for $150. I balked at the price they're asking for and walked out. Did some research and found out not a lot of companies even make this size.

I know Firestone carries Interstate batteries, and after looking around, found out they make a MT-151R battery. However, I can't find this model on either the Firestone or Interstate batteries site. What gives?

If I can't find the 151R at any other store besides Autozone, there was suggestion that I can squeeze a 51R into the Honda Fit. Will the car blow up if I manage to fit the 51R into the 151R slot?

Well, gotta pat myself in the back 'cause I didn't realize how easy the job would be. I went to Costco and got a 51R battery, unscrewed the hold down bar on the battery, as well as the positive and negative terminals, took out the 2 shrouds that surround the OEM 151R battery, put the 51R in, tighten the screws and hold down bar. Done. Fit was perfect.

Only had to put in the radio code that's written on the sticker in the glove compartment and everything's back to normal. Took me at most 10 minutes for the job. Costco gives you $9 on the old battery, and charges $65 for the new 51R. Comes with 3 years no question replacement.

I love Costco. They also have FREE battery installations.

Yeah, but the installation time is so fucking long. Don't get me wrong, I love them when I got nothing to do all day and end up hanging around Costco for 3 hours. But when I got a shit ton of things to do, and I can do it myself, I'd rather buy the product and install it myself w/o waiting for my turn.

Next up, learning how to install new tires and do wheel realignment at home... j/k.
