Honda and Pontiac in bed together??

Maybe I am missing something and GM has taken pontiac to another japanese company to help them design a nice car (see vibe and matrix).

The G6 coupe and the civic coupe look far too similar to not have some sort of relationship. Is GM once again working with the japanese to pump out some decent cars?

Take a look at the two cars and tell me if you are seeing the same thing I am.

Civic Coupe1
Civic Coupe2

G6 Coupe1
G6 Coupe2

i must be blind... or something because i see very little resemblance other than:
they have 2 doors
made of metal
have glass windows
have taillights and head lights.

I think they are different enough. A lot of cars have similar features. Plus I think the G6 has a better design, especially with the introduction of the coupe and convertible models this year.

ive never sat in the G6, but to say the current gen Civic is a great quality interior feel is an over statement.

Base Number of Cylinders: 6 Base Engine Size: 3.9 liters
Base Engine Type: V6 Horsepower: 240 hp
Max Horsepower: 6000 rpm Torque: 241 ft-lbs.

That's where the real difference is 😉

Civics are made for fuel economy and practicality.
US carmakers just plain suck at efficient cars, therefore marketing takes over and you get cars "built for divers"

If you want fuel efficiency get the I4 version 23 mpg / 34 mpg is not bad at all

If I had some money to throw away, I'd sell/trade my 2005 G6 GT for a 2006 G6 GTP coupe. Just doesn't make any financial sense at this point and I'm not willing to waste that much money for a bit of fun right now. 🙂

is there any aftermarket for the car/engine?

How do these two cars look alike? I can see someone consfusing the Solara's end with a G6's coupe's end but thats about it...

I don't get why GM doesn't get more power out of that engine.

Honestly...
Honda's Accord gets 244hp, 211lb-ft so almost the same power out of a 3L.
