Aside from the body (looks). These two are very similar. Performance wise the honda accord has 240 hp at 6000 rpms while the TSX has 204 at 7000 rpms.

Feature wise teh tsx is more richer and the TSX is more agile and nimble.

Honda accord V6 msrp is around 25000 while the TSX is around 28000.

I think i am leaning towards the TSX more cause of the prestige and value associated with the accura name, but that does not mean much 3 months after buying the car when it is depreciating hard and fast in value.

What I need is someone to tell me why or why not I should spend 3000 more dollars for the TSX.

I can't make up my mind?

TSX looks nice and is smaller, so easier to get around in. It takes premium too.

Does the accord come with leather? It takes regular and gets better gas mileage, doesn't it?

I'd go with neither and grab a legacy gt. :D

I would say the other way around; but then again, I like both too.

TSX. Why? Because it's the car I've wanted ever since they first came out...bastard :(
Also-you have the 6-speed option

Oh; and if you get an automatic, I will hurt you.

I wouldn?t worry too much about deprecation value on an Accord or Acura. I just got both of my work cars appraised (04 TL and 03 CRV) and each one has at least $10K in equity out value.

I compared the Accord V6, TL and TSX for a couple of months before I finally decided on the TL. Personally I would get the TSX because IMHO it?s much nicer than the Accord.

<-- '03 Accord V6 owner (auto). I'd say if you are getting an auto get the Accord. If you getting a stick get the TSX. IMO, 4 cylinder VTEC engines and automatic transmissions are not a recipe for fun.

last year i was deciding between an accord ex v6 with navi versus the tsx with navi and choose the tsx. i found the accord sedan to be too big for my needs while the tsx is smaller.

i love the xenon lights on the tsx and it gets pretty good gas mileage even though it takes premium. when i test drove both cars though, the v6 accord felt much much faster with the v6. the tsx is quick enough on the highway but you def. know its a i4 when driving locally.

yep, the car is quick enough if you let it hit vtec but the frugal gas spending in me tells me to shift early ;)

Since 99% of your driving will never be done at 6000rpm or 7000rpm I don't see why it's that important.
Acura isn't associated with prestige and I don't understand how it's a "value", as you are paying a premium for the brand.

I'd go with the accord. Though you are going to follow your ego and buy the TSX.

some guys on vtec.net put both the accord and tsx on a lift and poked around. The TSX has things like extra underbody aero work and better/less convoluted exhaust piping. A bit more attention to detail most people probably won't notice, but the extra money does go somewhere.

True, but isn't TSX comes with more gadgets? Voice activation, navigation, bluetooth....

odd, but true

if you like ugly cars that ride like sofas, maybe

The Camry is actually far better looking than the Accord now. (Coming from a current gen Accord owner)

I'd look at the Camry V6 vs the TSX...wouldn't even consider an Accord now. If you must, go with the TSX over the Accord. You won't miss the extra power, and you'll love the extra "stuff" on the TSX. If you really cared about power you would be looking at Maximas/G35/TL's anyway.

the v6 Camry se is suppose to drive pretty decently

I would go for the TSX. We drove one, but it was to expensive at the time. We liked it a lot better over the accord. The accord I find boring and pretty uncomfortable, especially on long trips. After an hr or so I'm hurting.

My gf has an 04 TSX. It's a wonderful car and I love driving it. She has the auto, but it's still fun to drive.

I had a post typed up but my browser crashed. boo.

Yea it has more gadgets, but none that I would ever consider paying an extra 5K for. It all depends what you want I suppose.

Though for 30K, you could pick up a Lexus IS 250, Audi A4 or an C230 Benz. The TSX was listed on many "Best of" lists for cars at or under 30K in 2006.
