Mitsubishi isn't known for their quality like Honda and Toyota are.

FWIW I'm not a fanboy of any car company.

Mitsubishi has had a string of coverups for not recalling serious problems, IIRC.

What's really sad is that I THOUGHT they were on the right track with the older (Circa Y2K) models.

Kinda' looked like a smaller version of the Diamante..............but then they went and changed them. Plus the one person I know that has one of the older ones said it hasn't been all that reliable for her. (Oh well)

Here's a bigger question............

Will the Saturn Aura be any better??

I like the older big Mitsubishi SUVs. Nice styling to them.

I saw the Saturn Sky yesterday and that thing is just slick. Actually, that is putting it mildly. You have to see one for yourself being driven. Great looking car. I can't say if it is as good to drive though.

the older....aka early and mid 90's models' had the DSM engine's in them. 4g63 version...which was a SOLID motor.....with just bolt on's you could easily get the motor to 600 horsepower and have the ultimate sleeper.
These motors were ran in the Eagle Talon gen 1 & 2 and Mitsubishi Eclipse gen 1 & 2. after they stopped using that motor , my personal opinion of them was that they sucked.

The 4G63 motor was also used in the Dodge Vista stationwagon in the past. The car voted LEAST likely to be stolen with the engine running and keys in the ignition.

I used to own a 1996 Galant--the car was fine the first few years I owned it and then fell apart at an alarming rate resulting in a ton of expensive repairs. The poster I quoted above is spot on--Mitsubishi's just not known for their build quality.
