Homosexual Propaganda

At my high school, we actually have posters showing 2 hockey players kissing passionately that say "SHOCKING? For the homophobes! "

(Posters at my school)

Now that is going too far.

I don't want people telling me what I'm allowed to find offensive or not. I can disagree with homosexuality as much as I want, and that is not homophobia.

There are other posters that say, "HOMOPHOBIA FREE ZONE". Excuse me? So, you're telling me that if I find homosexuals frightening, I can't enter?

Our school celebrated International Anti-Homophobia day yesterday. This, for me is just too much.

What do you guys think about this?

What state do you live in?

I dare you to take a PIC of it and mail it to local news stations, Rush Limbaugh, and Sean Hannity.

Yes, going way over the top. But I guess it's better than hanging the 10 Commandments, yes?

I'm confused... heterosexual PDA is usually against the rules in most high schools... but homosexual PDA is encouraged and even advertised on posters?

Well you are kind of a ****** if you're a homophobe. Scared of gay people? Yeah...

As far as the school having all that stuff, I think it's kind of over the top. It would be like having posters around having a guy and girl making out saying "SHOCKING!? FOR A HETEROPHOBE!" Too in-your-face for me.

I think it is time to put homophobia behind us. I've encoutered people who are too close minded on the subject. They should be educated. Whether this will eduate them or not, I don't know. Gays have been terrible at presenting their cause. Their propaganda has been more harmful than beneficial. Gays should realize that people attitudes will not change right away.

I don't like gay flamers, though. They try to fit in a certain stereotype.

They have no "cause." It's a life choice. People have a right to their own opinion on whether to conclude it's a disgusting lifestyle or not.

just a question ... was it the school or was it a group

and second question is your school known for gay bashing...

i know there was a problem in my highschool with everyone being racist hicks ...
when one of the very few minority kids got the hell beaten out of him for being different things like this would pop up...

It is not a life choice for the most. I doubt people chose the straight lifestyle. I don't want to have this argument again, but I don't think people choose to be, generally speaking.

OMG, this PC "education" crap has gone too far. And before anyone says, I would not be mean to a gay person.

I would've removed it from the wall (and promptly been arrested on some sort of hate crime, no doubt, as if I'd dragged a lesbian behind my car for 15 miles).

There's are proper forums for changing people's thoughts. The walls of a public building are not one of them.

If you ain't gay in the 1st place, WTF are you so afraid of? Oh wait, that you might get a rise from that poster and discover you're acutally gay or bi?

The issue there is that some gays (and other minorities) interpret every person who doesn't like them as being homophobic/racist/discriminatory/whatever. That just isn't always the case. If I don't like you, I don't like you as a person. What you happen to fsck in your bedroom or what your skin color is would have nothing to do with it. There's a lot of straight white males I don't like too. OTOH I am friends with many gays too. I really don't care about other people's personal lives and things that are really not my business.
But that's the issue. A lot of these over-the-top people think being gay makes it so everyone has to like them... or they're a "homophobe"... even if they are an otherwise detestable prick of a human being. These particular people are a small minority of gays and really aren't even the cause, but unfortunately they tend to be the most vocal and in-your-face about it, and seem to have gotten the most attention from the straight community.
Think of them as the same type of people who protest outside fur coat stores and throw animal blood on the patrons instead of working within the legal system for change...

I really think the term homophobia is way overused. Just because you do not care for something, does not make it a phobia. I don't like spinach either, but I doubt you could say I have spinachphobia. .......

It's not about being afraid of anything. It's about the implications the poster makes... that if you think homosexuality is wrong you are a bad person. "You're only permitted to have an opinion if it agrees with our opinion"

That kind of crap should be kept out of schools.

Too true. Except the two chicks in the header graphic on that website.

Wait! Damnit. That would still be better, just not as good as it COULD be!
