LOL! Your case was also in Kansas? I had that experience for the first time when I went for graduation of someone I knew in Kansas. The first sign I saw said something like "God hates fags".

Well, I was kind of uncomfortable, but at the same time, it felt like my trip wouldn't be complete if I hadn't seen that. The Midwest seemed so opposite my prejudices before I saw those signs.

I would not equate those people with all religion. As a Christian I find them repulsive and very offensive, especially when they are carying signs like "God hates fags" and "Thank God for 9/11". That is freaking rediculous and I am insulted that they actually refer to themselves as true believers. I would challenge any one of them to back up their claims and beliefs using the Bible. If God really hated sinners why the heck did he come down, take human form, and freaking die for us all? The Bible is full of love and compassion for sinners, not blind hatred. (The old testamant was before the new covenant of Jesus so the rules were a little different then).

I am seriously peeved at people like that...
