I loved it until the first campaign mission for haven bugged on me! Kill some guy he's dead but I didn't get credit so it doesn't proceed. It has happened to other people too.

Sanctuary campaign bugged on me too, all of my available units are -11000 so I can't recruit anyone. F this buggy POS game. 6 isn't even finished and is full of bugs. Stay away.

I really haven't run into that many bugs and I'm 2/3's done. Have you updated with the new patches? My main problem is that all the missions I end up level capped for the last 1/3 of the map. Kind of annoying to have your hero gain no experience for that long. I also feel like second heroes are useless with the ease of townportaling. The spells are kind of boring too, but I really like the abilities so I think it makes up for it. I definitely feel like might heroes have the edge. I friggen love the ability that makes your units counterstrike before their units hit you for the first few turns.

I never got into this series but I'm a big fan of turn based RPGs. Well Japanese ones anyway. And I play western RPGs turn based when I can, pause plan, act, pause plan act etc. Worth getting into? Which ones?

Here in the UK there's a pack which I believe contains III+expansions (fans reckon this is the best), IV (which fans suggest is an abomination) and V+expansions (which fans think is a poor imitation of III but its still really good).

I enjoy M&M Heroes VI but some people have faced gamebreaking or mission stopping bugs. I had one CTD and that was about it for the negatives during about 25-30 hours of play for me.

I think Ubisoft are (unfairly) receiving extra flak over the game quality because of their treatment of PC users ie. DRM.

I'd say play HOMM 2 first - because it's good, and gives you a feel for the game; then play 3, because it's improved. Both are on gog.com.

lots! i my favorites are Age of Wonders 2 (a bit old graphics but fun) and Fantasy Wars (original campaign).
